Support Emergency Services! Especially our Volunteers!!

***Please Share our post and invite your family and friends to like our page!!!***

An exciting new partnership was established yesterday! Ozark Charcoal has agreed to donate all of the district’s charcoal needs for our fundraiser BBQs! We are incredibly excited for this partnership and look forward to slinging those 16 oz pork steaks from K & R Market over hot coals and finishing them off with delicious Blues Hog BBQ Sauce!

We would also like to recognize both K & R Market and Blues Hog BBQ Sauce for being amazing partners to our district. Their continued support of our volunteer firefighters and our fundraising efforts means a great deal to our organization and community. Partnerships like these truly help us continue providing professional services to our neighbors.

Don’t forget — the fundraiser BBQ is this Sunday!
Drive-thru service opens at 11:00 AM and runs until 5:00 PM or until sold out!

Remember that our firefighters and auxiliary members are raising funds to replace our thermal imaging cameras. This important piece of equipment is used to help locate hidden fires and locate victims!

We hope to see everyone there!

⚠️BREAKING: Just in the SPC has now upgraded a very large part of our viewing region to a Level 4 out of 5 Severe Risk now for this afternoon. ALL Modes of Severe will be possible but remember NOT everyone will see these storms due to the nature of the setup.

SVR WX UPDATE - April 25th, 2026 - 8:15 AM
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 3, enhanced risk for severe weather on Monday, April 27th. All severe weather hazards (straight line winds, large hail, and tornadoes) will be possible if a storm can become strong enough. Storms are likely in the afternoon to evening hours Monday. With this said, it's important to mention that we are still 3-days out from Monday and the timing/intensity of these storms could change.

Now is a great time to prepare in the event that we do have severe weather Monday. Where will you shelter if we have an event? How will you be informed of severe weather? Do you have people you can contact outside of the county in the event you are impacted by severe weather?

If you're not signed up for our Mass Notification System, Everbridge now is a great time to sign up for it by clicking the link provided: https://member.everbridge.net/88752814817447/login

Our agency will continue to monitor this threat and update as needed.

A strong cold front will lead to the development of severe thunderstorms over northwest Missouri this afternoon. These storms will track southeast into the area this evening into late tonight. Thunderstorms will weaken, but exactly where and how soon remains uncertain. Check weather frequently to ensure you catch the latest updates and have multiple ways to receive warning information.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Captain Tommy Shine.

We are grieving much more than the loss of a great firefighter—we have lost a great friend, father, husband, and so much more. Tommy fought a long, hard battle to get back to where he was, leaning on his faith in God every step of the way. Knowing how far he came makes this loss even more difficult to understand.

For 24 years, from volunteer to career Firefighter/EMT to Captain, Tommy was a part of our family. He found true joy in helping others and bringing smiles to those around him while living life to the fullest. Through his service with the Wentzville Fire Protection District, he showed every day what it means to care—always striving to leave people a little better than he found them. He was a light in the lives of so many, and his kindness, strength, and dedication will never be forgotten.

We stand alongside Brittany and the entire Shine family during this incredibly difficult time.

Two rounds of snow are forecast this weekend, one Saturday morning/afternoon with a focus along/south of I-70. There may be about a 6 hour break before more widespread (and likely heavier) snow overspreads much of the area Saturday night through early Sunday afternoon. At least 4" of snow is likely for much of the area, with chances of 8+" of snow more likely than not in southeast Missouri and vicinity.

One of our dreams has always been to create a place where veterans and first responders can retreat—somewhere they can clear their minds, reconnect with themselves, and experience the simple, grounding things in life. After 25 years in emergency services, I know firsthand the things we see, carry, and rarely talk about. No one should have to face those moments alone.

This deer season, we were given an unexpected and truly meaningful opportunity. Three incredible first responders—two of whom are also veterans—were able to spend time on our farm and enjoy a peaceful day of hunting.

Mike and his son, Cody, are both Air Force veterans, both firefighters, and both serve in EMS. Mike played an important role in my own life growing up during his time with the Sullivan Fire Protection District and his short but impactful time at the Bourbon Fire Protection District. Being able to welcome them here felt like things had truly come full circle.

We were also honored to have Eric join us for the hunt. Eric is a third-generation firefighter with over 10 years of service. He proudly volunteers as the Assistant Fire Chief in his hometown of Marthasville, serves full-time with the Cedar Hill Fire Protection District, and is also a part-time firefighter with the Sullivan Fire Protection District. His dedication to the fire service and his community runs deep.

And the best part? Two of the three harvested beautiful bucks off the farm! I couldn’t be happier for such a successful and meaningful hunt.

Mike, Cody, and Eric—
Thank you for your service to our country and for the unwavering dedication you continue to give your communities every single day. It was truly an honor to have all three of you here.

We look forward to many more future hunts with our veterans and emergency service personnel. This is only the beginning.

Retired Sullivan EMS Chief Miller was a fantastic family man, friend, and mentor to many. A man who dedicated his life to this community and gave many their start in their career.

Please share this. Anyone with any tips please contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
