There are some stories that remind you exactly why you do what you do. Here is one of them for us ❤️ 45 years apart. The first photo: a young couple honeymooning at Pine Terrace in 1981, at Cabin 1. The second: that same couple, 45 years later, returning to Pine Terrace with their children and grandchildren.
Cabin 1 may have been where their story with Pine Terrace began, but today, Cabin 13 has become their family’s home away from home. They’ve returned year after year, bringing their growing family together under one roof to fish, swim, sit around campfires, listen to the loons, laugh at the beach, and simply be together.
Their daughter recently shared this with us: “In a fast-paced world, it’s simply magic” and we couldn’t have said it better. Because the magic of Pine Terrace has never really been about having the newest or fanciest anything. It’s about the things that never go out of style.
• Kids running barefoot from the beach to the playground.
• Morning coffee while listening to the loons.
• Fishing boats gliding across a glassy lake. The smell of rain on the pines.
• Campfires that turn into late-night conversations.
• Grandparents watching their grandchildren make the same kinds of memories their parents once made.
And families coming back year after year because, somewhere along the way, Pine Terrace became part of their story. That is the greatest compliment we could ever receive. We feel incredibly lucky to care for a place that has held so many family memories, and even luckier when families like this allow us to be a small part of them.
Here’s to the honeymooners of today becoming the grandparents returning 45 years from now.
Some places you visit.
Some places you remember.
And some places become home.
Thank you, Maria and family, for sharing these beautiful photos and for letting us be part of your story.
We’ll see you next year. 🌲❤️
