Tamarack Resort A small family owned resort in Northern Minnesota. The Fishing is great!

We have 8 cabins on the western edge of Burntside Lake on Tamarack bay, 12 miles west of Ely, Minnesota in the Superior National Forest. We are also on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness which is adjacent to the Canadian Quetico Provincial Park.It is QUIET, PRIVATE, and BEAUTIFUL. Burntside Lake is 9 miles long with 150 scenic islands, clear blue water, and LOTS of fish.

🍂 Fall is on its way to Tamarack Resort! 🍁

We had our first light freeze last night, which means the woods around us should really start putting on their fall colors soon. The next couple of weeks are one of our favorite times of year on the lake—crisp mornings, quiet water, cool evenings, and all those beautiful reds, oranges and golds starting to appear. 🌲🍂

There’s still time to squeeze in one last Northwoods getaway before we close for the season on October 1st.

September at Tamarack Resort 🍂

The lake is quiet, the mornings are crisp, and the woods are starting to shift toward fall. This is one of the best times of year to sneak away to the Boundary Waters area for a few peaceful days before the season wraps up.

Come stay lakeside, slow down, paddle, fish, hike, or just sit by the water and enjoy northern Minnesota in September.

The rain finally found us , and the forest around Tamarack is loving it. Mushrooms are popping up, everything is green again, and there’s that unmistakable hint that fall is just around the corner. 🍂

Labor Day weekend is one of those beautiful in-between moments on Burntside Lake: summer isn’t quite over, the woods are starting to change, and there’s still time for one more paddle, campfire, fishing trip, or quiet morning by the lake.
