I bought this stunning cabinet at the Newark Antiques Fair in England last Spring, but true to form, found something I loved more for a 1/3 of the price right in my backyard for the space I had planned. This comes from France, dates back to the 18th century, and is finished in the “faux-bois” style, which was an intentional finish during that period. The cabinet and drawer interior are painted in a beautiful, glossy pinkish beige. It’s unusual but styled in the right space, looks so, so cool. Forgive me for the AI photo but I am terrible at staging to give it the attention it deserves.

I’m asking $1500 OBO. Reach to me by DM if interested!

One of my favorite things about designing Anderson House was how easily all the little details came together, not because I planned it that way, but because I finally found a clear piece of inspiration (this R***e Paper Co. wallpaper), theme, and color palette. I was randomly picking things up here and there with no idea where they would end up, but it turned out just right. The touch of serendipity from those family heirloom finds makes the whole thing!

I was just looking at photos of my kids from last year and came across this one. The bunk room at Anderson is the oldest bedroom in the house, as the rest of the second floor was part of a later addition. The original floors are just…breathtaking, honestly. Not something you find often in Wisconsin!

Today I had the privilege of visiting Svalhus Research Library, which is literally across the street from Anderson House and holds the family archives. There is so much to share, and I only just started to scratch the surface! The visit was a reminder of how multi-faceted Door County is and why every visit feels so different.

It’s the perfect conglomeration of:
• Connection to early settler history and our European roots
• Nostalgia for the mid-century American vacation
• Elevated millennial entrepreneurialism
• And of course, the great outdoors!

But I digress. Stay tuned for more to come on the Andersons!

I did not make it out to shop at all on our little visit! A nap and time at the waterfront with kids took precedence. I DID get out to June's for the first time, and I can confirm it is lovely. And surprisingly kid-friendly, despite every muscle in my husband’s neck tensing up when we first walked in to the joint. 5/5, highly recommend a stop to our Anderson House guests!

I can’t WAIT to share more on the rest of my day later!
