The Great Outdoors is nestled in the Smoky Mountains RV Resort amenities include sites with full hook-up with 30/50 power, water and city sewer, free wi-fi throughout park, swimming pool, picnic table at each site, laundry room, exercise room, trash service, banquet hall, family shower rooms, general store, rocking chair porch and area for board games. If you haven't hiked to Wayah Bald Lookout Tower yet, put it at the TOP of your list! At 5,342 feet elevation, the restored stone tower offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in all of Western North Carolina. On a clear day you can see for miles across wave after wave of mountain ridges. 🏔️ The hike is about 4 miles roundtrip and is accessible right off Wayah Road, just 18 miles from Franklin. Go early morning for the best views and fewer crowds. Pure magic. ✨

Tomorrow is Potluck + Live Music Day at The Great Outdoors RV Resort, and if you're within 90 minutes of Franklin, NC, you are close enough to make this happen. Load up, roll in, and let the weekend do the rest.

Here's the deal: you bring a dish to share, we provide the good vibes, great neighbors, and live music under the roof of our Event Center, rain or shine, no exceptions.
