Prayers to the Florida areas impacted from the hurricane. Due to the last minute shift to the east, Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet Club had just some very minor damage to some landscaping and trim to the ground level of the parking areas. The mandatory evacuation order has been lifted and guests are allowed back to the area.

🌀 MANDATORY EVACUATIONS FOR ISLAND VISITORS

Gov. Kay Ivey has issued a mandatory evacuation of all “non-residents, tourists and visitors” in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Zone 1 in Mobile County, which includes all of Dauphin Island and parts of Bayou Le Batre, as Hurricane Isaias continues to make a track for the northern Gulf Coast.

The executive proclamation went into effect immediately, as of 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8.

Non-residents, tourists and visitors in Alabama coastal areas south of the Intracoastal Waterway must leave, according to the proclamation. The mandatory evacuation is in effect until the state of emergency expires.

The state, Baldwin County and most cities in the area have declared states of emergency, which allows officials to expedite preparations and emergency crews to work through the storm.

Our recent cancellation for the Winter of 2027 could give someone a chance to stay in one of the 2 bedroom Deluxe units at Gulf Shores Surf & Racquet Club on West Beach Blvd which there are only 6 of these special larger units in the complex. It’s a 2 bedroom/ 2 bath unit with 30 ft balcony facing the beach in the center of “A” building on the 6th floor.

Price is discounted this year as the complex will be pressure washing buildings and sealing/painting the buildings including the balconies. If not completed prior to January 1st, when they get to our unit I will have someone remove balcony furniture for a few days while they clean and seal and then furniture will be put back.

Normally $3500 including all feed and taxes but reduced to $3000 a month plus $280 cleaning. Parking paid directly to complex is $30.

School is starting back, the summer season is winding down, peak season prices have been dropped so it’s a perfect time to think about a last minute trip to the beach.

We have downsized here at Gordon’s Vacation Rentals so now we just have 507A and 607A which are 2 bedroom/2 bath Deluxe units.
