Dear Happiness Family,
We would like to introduce ourselves, Jeff and Lindsay Schipper (pronounced Skipper). We are
honored to carry on the legacy of the Ferris family. As the baton is passed, we look forward to offering the same welcoming hospitality that has made Happiness a treasured destination on Ten Mile Lake.
As we step into this next chapter, we want to introduce our family and share a bit of our heart
with you.
We are the Schipper family—Jeff, Lindsay, our children Summer, Joe, Cullin, Sam, Josie, and
Leo, and our grandchild James—and like many of you, we first came to Ten Mile Lake drawn by
its clear water, peaceful Northwoods setting, and the chance to unplug together. Jeff began
fishing Ten Mile Lake with his grandparents in the early 1980s, a connection that has made this
place meaningful to our family for decades.
Our vision for Happiness is simple: to preserve what you already love while gently strengthening it for the next generation. Our goal is to ensure traditions continue while new stories begin. We are committed to keeping the relaxed, family-centered feel of the resort, the quiet mornings on the dock, and the long, sandy beach days that have defined summers here for a century. Most of all, our promise is to listen well, communicate clearly, and honor the legacy entrusted to us and the memories your families have built here.
Please know we are purchasing Happiness Resort in addition to our current resort, Quietwoods Resort. Our vision is that these two neighboring resorts complement one another. Across both properties, our priorities remain the same: friendly, responsive hospitality and a deep respect for Ten Mile Lake’s clear water and natural beauty. We hope guests feel a continuity of care and welcome—whether they pull into the drive at Quietwoods or turn down the lane toward Happiness—knowing both places are being thoughtfully cared for by the same family.
We look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories of past summers, and creating many new
memories together in the years ahead—on the same shoreline that has welcomed families for
generations.
