August 14th is my earliest night to see Northern Lights in Denali. Until then, I'll keep enjoying our backyard filled with alpenglow in the afternoons and early morning red light shows. Alaska has beautiful light.

I am having a good time with our staff this year. They are making the Denali Dome Home, A Second Home in Denali and Your Home Along the Way look good. Our guests love the staff too. We have J-1's from Thailand, Macedonia, Dominican Republic (I get to practice Spanish.) Malaysia, and Jamaica. We consistently get high ratings for "clean."

I know the world comes to Denali when the weather is nice. This photo was taken on a sunny day in the living room for the Denali Dome Home by a staff member who wants to have her own hotel in the future. I hope we're helping her along the way. "Denali" it was and is.

Camp Denali is at Denali National Park and Preserve. "One thing remains the same: Denali will always be Denali to Alaskans. Denali is the Koyukon Athabaskan name for the mountain, meaning “the high one” or “the tall one,” a name we feel appropriately honors the region’s many generations of Indigenous stewardship. Let it remain. DENALI, the original name given to the highest peak in North America by the native Koyukon Athabaskan people who have inhabited the region around the mountain for centuries, which means “The High One”, soars over the cloud ceiling at 20,310 feet in DENALI National Park, Alaska. I think most people prefer its beautiful, original name over its alternative name, after a man who never stepped foot in Alaska.
