Founded in 1924, Stewart has 100 years of camping legacy and provides the ultimate outdoor experience for boys 6-16. “Don’t wait to be a Man to be Great, Be a Great Boy” is Camp Stewart’s motto. The Philosophy of the camp and its leadership is to provide a camping experience which focuses on the total development of each boy as well as creating memorable adventures. A few days ago, we asked if anyone could guess the song behind one of our favorite camp traditions. 🎶

The answer is “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers!

Somehow this song has become a Camp Stewart tradition, and every summer it has us laughing. The campers get completely into it, and it’s one of those fun little moments that helps make camp memories so special.🎤🎶🧡

Today’s the day! 🧡🤩

Camper trunks are packed, counselors are ready, and Camp Stewart is opening its gates for another incredible summer. After months of preparation, we’re excited to welcome campers back to the place where friendships grow, confidence is built, and memories are made.

The river, the horses, the activities, the evening events, and all of the traditions that make Camp Stewart special are waiting. Most of all, we’re ready to hear the laughter and excitement that fills camp when the boys arrive.

Summer starts now, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Let the BEST SUMMER EVER begin! ☀️🧡

What a beautiful night we had at Camp Stewart! 🎭🎶 Last night was stunt night and the talent show, and we were blown away by how many incredibly talented counselors we have this summer, especially musically! 🎸🎤

If you play an instrument and would like to practice or perform while at camp, feel free to bring it along! Just please don’t bring anything you would be heartbroken if it got damaged or broken.

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow! 🧡

Another fun evening at Stewart! 🍕🧡

We kicked things off with Pizza Cheers followed by a hilarious game of Minute to Win It with the Heart O’ the Hills counselors. They had us laughing so hard! What a fun group and a great way to end the day! 🙌

Graduating high school, straight to lifeguard certification clinic, and now training to be a counselor this summer… Si is continuing in his family’s footsteps at Camp Stewart.

A longtime camper, Si completed Stewart’s Leadership Training Program and is now following in the footsteps of both his grandfather and father as he prepares to become a counselor. We are proud of you, Si!

Along with our daily activities and evening events, one of my favorite times to see the boys having fun is right before meals. 🧡

This is when camp really comes alive, with campers playing pickleball, gagaball, carpetball, volleyball, basketball, a round of chess or checkers, and just enjoying time together. Scott has even added a new game to our outdoor gameboard “lounge”!

One of the best parts is seeing all of the different age groups naturally come together, building friendships, laughing, and simply enjoying being kids. Sometimes it’s the little in between moments that make camp so special.
