Camp friendships are a big part of what makes a summer at Stewart so special. 🧡

There’s nothing quite like the friendships made at camp. Cabin mates spend their days together trying new activities, laughing, competing, encouraging one another, and making memories they’ll talk about long after the summer is over.

We also know that in all the excitement of closing day, sometimes the boys forget to exchange contact information!

If your camper would like to stay in contact with a cabin mate but didn’t get his information before leaving camp, we’re happy to help connect our camp families.

Just email Valarie Buihner at [email protected], and we’ll help you get in touch.

The summer ends, but the friendships don’t have to.

A personal thank you to all the campers and camp families at Stewart this summer! You made my 60th summer at Stewart very special and I simply have to say, “Thank you!”

It was August 1966 -60 years ago- when Si and I signed the papers to start buying Camp Stewart from “Uncle Bill” and “Aunt Kate” James. Camp was Si’s lifetime dream - I had not a clue about the incredible life of new friends, experiences, and challenges before us!

Sixty-years is a lifetime: we raised our family at Stewart, bought Heart O’ the Hills so Jane could pursue her camping dreams; we experienced highs and lows, but never lost sight of our goal of providing the best youth camp experience possible or to treat each camper as we would want our own child treated. We had failures and big successes; we lived life.

Although I am not ready to retire, I know that day looms, but for now Stewart—and its future—is the focus!

Upcoming Events:

🧡 Labor Day SSS (better known as Father-Son) is a Labor Day (Arrival Friday, September 4, with departure after brunch Monday, September 7.) This is a men-only weekend filled with camaraderie, activities, good food, and live music; you have to experience it to understand the magic! It is a weekend when men get to be boys again!

For more information or to register, call George at 830-238-4670 or email [email protected].

🧡Stewart 2027

Again, a personal thank you for making Stewart and our family part of your lives, and a special thank you to legacy campers: you have no idea how I love seeing fathers (and grandfathers) who were once “my little boys” all grown up. How God has blessed me!

There’s nothing quite like a Texas BBQ to bring everyone together!

A heartfelt thank you to the Howry family for generously treating our campers and staff to a yummy meal from Bill’s BBQ. It was such a pleasure visiting with your family and watching everyone enjoy a delicious Texas tradition together.

The smiles, full plates, and great conversation made for a wonderful evening, and it couldn’t have been a better way to kick off our Rodeo Night. Thank you for making the night even more memorable for our everyone!

Every week at camp tells a different story, and Week 3 was one these boys will remember for a long time. From big adventures to quiet moments of encouragement, friendships grew, confidence grew, and memories were made in ways that can’t always be captured on camera.

Here’s a look back at Week 3 at Camp Stewart. 🧡

Teaching Respect, One Fold at a Time 🇺🇸

Our boys took time to learn the proper way to fold the American flag.

While it may seem like a simple task, it’s a meaningful tradition that teaches respect, responsibility, and appreciation for our country and those who have served it.

These are the kinds of lessons that have always been part of Camp Stewart. Along with making memories and having fun, we’re proud to help teach values that will stay with our campers for years to come.

“Don’t wait to be a man to be great; be a great boy.” 🇺🇸🧡⭐
