Do you follow the recommendations
Hell no I dont... Do what you will with this information full disclaimer Im not a mechanic! Talk with one or a tech, they see way more vehicles exploding than anyone else.
The Honda takes SAE 0W20 oil sice a little over 120k miles its been getting 10W30 high mileage full synthetic oil. With almost to 300k on the engine now, I do believe the bump up in thickness and routine changes have kept the motor healthy.
The CVT transmission had to be replaced right at the 120k extended warranty... wana know my thoughts on why?
The dealerships recommend services was at 90k miles but the manufacturer recommended service is 30k. The dealership wont change your transmission filter and O rings unless you ask on top of that.
Dealerships make money on selling cars and unnecessary parts/maintenance, while neglecting the fluids that keep your ride alive.
Planned obsolescence on top of misinformation is out of control in my humble opinion.
Find an honest mechanic and keep your vehicles on the road longer 🫡
