~Winter Storm Friday-Saturday Night~

Even with some uncertainty yet, confidence is slowly growing in a winter storm to impact portions of the region later Friday and through Saturday. There will be two waves, and the initial wave will be on Thursday, where mostly rain (a brief period of snow) is expected. Cold air will move in behind it, and the second wave will have a shield of snow with decent snowfall rates at times. A swath of shoveable snow is expected with the greatest snowfall totals (6"+) near Lake Superior and potentially down into portions of MN and WI.
