Our local streams are known for their world class fishing bring your pole and drop a line! Outdoor activities in the surrounding areas include site seeing our local covered bridges to hiking the famous falls in Ricketts Glen state park. Antique shops and Farmers Market are popular to many visitors as well as the locals. Here at Wanna Ruf It we provide spacious wooded campsites at an affordable price along with use of our beautiful pavilion.

And Just Like That… Another Camping Season Comes to a Close!

That’s a wrap on our 2026 camping season here at Wanna Ruf It Campground!

As the campground quiets down for winter, we’re looking back on a summer filled with laughter, friendship, campfires, golf cart parades, glow parties, bike rides, and plenty of good times.

What makes this place special isn’t just the events or the beautiful woods—it’s the people who bring the campground to life.

To everyone who spent a weekend, vacation, or the whole summer with us, thank you for supporting our small business and making Wanna Ruf It campground your home away from home.

We’re grateful for another season, the memories made, and the friendships that continue to grow.

Until the campground comes back to life, stay warm, stay safe, and keep those summer memories close.

Halloween at the campground is our last event of the season and this one was one for the books! What a great turnout we had. Lots of kiddos ..lots of candy...lots of fun! Huge shout out to our campers who dressed up...passed out candy and made the haunted hayride spooktacular...then danced the night away.....well till 9:30...🤣😂

🍂 Well folks, it’s that time of year… 🍂

We are officially 3 days away from Closing Weekend! It’s hard to believe another camping season is already coming to an end. The last day of the season is Sunday October 11th.

As you get ready to tuck your campers in for their winter slumber, please make sure your sites are cleaned up, secured, and packed away for the season.

💧 Water: We do not guarantee water availability after Sunday. Please plan accordingly and complete any winterizing that requires water before then. If the water has been turned off before you’ve finished winterizing, you may come down to the hydrant in front of the house to fill buckets with any water you need.

⚡ Electric: Power will remain on until we complete our own winterizing and seasonal shutdown at a later date.

🌲 Access after Sunday: If you need to access the campground after Sunday, please call or message Julie BEFORE coming in. We will be actively working throughout the campground doing tree work, cleanup, maintenance, and preparing for the 2027 season. Depending on the work taking place, there may occasionally be times when certain areas of the campground are not accessible. We simply ask that you check with us first before coming in so we can make sure it is safe and convenient for everyone.

💰 End-of-season payments:
2027 seasonal deposits were due October 1st and are now past due. If you have not yet paid your deposit, please take care of that as soon as possible.

Final electric bills will be sent out around October 13th. Final electric balances and winter storage fees are due no later than October 31st.

If you have any questions regarding end-of-season business, payments, access, or anything else, please reach out directly to Julie.

Shannon Bearer and Jeff Bearer — Jeff, you truly outdid yourself! We absolutely LOVE it and can’t wait to give it the beautiful new stand it deserves once we widen the driveway this fall.
It means even more knowing it was made especially for us by people we’re lucky enough to call friends.
Thank you both, from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️ We’ll treasure it for years to come!

Well, folks, here we are… our LAST event of the camping season! And you know we can't go out without a little HOCUS POCUS and a whole lot of Halloween FUN! 🧙‍♀️🕷️

🍬 TRICK-OR-TREAT! Seasonal campers, please let Julie know if you'll be handing out candy to our little ghosts and goblins! Let's make sure those candy buckets are overflowing!

💀 DECK OUT THOSE SITES! We want to see your spookiest, creepiest, most BOO-tiful decorations! Whether you're going all out or keeping it simple, help us turn Wanna Ruf It into one haunted campground!

🚜 THE HAUNTED HAYRIDE IS BACK! Last year was a SCREAM, and we're counting on YOU to help make this year's even better! Break out the skeletons, dust off those creepy costumes, and let's give everyone a ride to remember!

🎃 So stock up on candy, dig out your Halloween decorations, and get ready for one last weekend of campground shenanigans!

🥃 Brown Bag Bourbon Society —
What a First Season! 🥃

What started as a small idea from Nick at Site 3 — just a few campers getting together to share their appreciation for a good, solid bourbon — somehow morphed into a monthly gathering at the pavilion and the official creation of our very own Brown Bag Bourbon Society.

And I’m so glad we ran with it! ❤️

It’s been such a fun addition to our campground season — good bourbon, good people, lots of laughs, and maybe a few pours that were a little more questionable than others. 😂 But that’s half the fun!

As we wrap up our first season of the Brown Bag Bourbon Society, we’re already looking forward to next year. Now we have all winter to hunt down some fancy bottles, hidden gems, and a few “what the heck, let’s try it” bourbons to bring back to the brown bag.

🌶️🍂 Another Chili Cook-Off in the books! 🍂🌶️

Yesterday was just about perfect — a great turnout, a little chill in the air, and exactly the kind of weather that makes a big bowl of chili taste even better!

We had NINE entries this year, and you guys did NOT make the voting easy! Every single one was delicious, and we appreciate everyone who took the time to make a pot of chili and come spend the afternoon with us.

3rd Place: Jeff — Site 26

2nd Place: Bill & Tia — Site 9

1st Place: We had a TIE!!

Our reigning champ from last year,
Nick from Site 3, tied with
Amber, Emma & Shawn from Site 32!
They split the $90 prize pot and, more importantly, get bragging rights until next year.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came down, sampled the chili, cast their votes, hung out, laughed, and just enjoyed the afternoon with us. These are the days that make campground life so much fun. ❤️
