It’s full on flower season here at Cloudberry Cabins! After a monochromatic winter, these little bursts of color bring me so much joy! We’ll carefully watch the weather and bring in hanging baskets at night until one day, caught unawares, the freeze gets them and just like that, flower season is abruptly over until next year.

Today on my run the bees and butterflies were all in a frenzy, as if they know fall is just around the corner and their biological clocks are ticking! The Silvery Blue spends 10 months over wintering as a pupa, with 2 short months in the summer to hatch, eat, and reproduce. I saw hundreds of Silvery Blues and Arctic Fritillaries vying for the yarrow and purple asters on my run today! How many insects can you see in the bottom right picture? Comment below!
