Anglers fishing on Upper Red Lake during the 2026 open-water season that starts Saturday, May 9, will have a five-walleye possession limit, with only one walleye longer than 17 inches allowed. This is the same regulation that was in place for the 2025 open-water season.

As we enter the final week of walleye season 25-26, we'd like to extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who accessed our resort this year. Being the first year fully open to the public, we had the pleasure of meeting many new customers and forming lasting connections with anglers who successfully caught Red Lake walleye. Our team ensured the ice road remained in excellent condition throughout the season, and the new bridge proved to be a significant enhancement, facilitating safe passage over the pressure ridge. We also appreciate the participation of the 24 youngsters who entered the fishing contest on Saturday, which coincided with perfect weather conditions. Special thanks to Smith Angling and Jonny Halverson for donating a guided fishing trip, won by two deserving young ladies, and to Mike Dully and Mark and Sue Pearson for their generous contributions. Our baitroom will be fully stocked with rainbows and Fatheads for the weekend, so take advantage of this opportunity to catch some exceptional fish on Upper Red Lake, where fishing has been consistently productive with many anglers achieving limits.

It appears we have reached a turning point in the fishing activity, with reports indicating a notable increase in catches, particularly over the weekend, as anglers have been able to pull in substantial hauls. With several houses available for the upcoming weekend and favorable weather conditions, we anticipate the fishing to continue improving. Given the remaining 20 days in the season, we encourage you to book your spot for an exceptional year-end fishing experience. Additionally, please note that our kids' fishing contest is scheduled for February 14th, open to families with a pass, fish house or motel rentals, and our valued seasonal fishermen. We are pleased to announce that Christopher Smith of Smith Angling has generously donated a half-day crappie fishing trip as a prize for the contest, promoting youth engagement with the outdoors. Our gratitude goes to Christopher Smith for this wonderful contribution.

We would like to thank everyone that came to visit us this weekend and enjoyed some of the great fishing on this Lake. Just a reminder that we are open to the public and we have over four and a half miles of Road and plenty of area to fish in for everyone. Come enjoy some easy on and off access to the lake.

Good morning, and Merry Christmas to all!!!! We are open today and fully stocked with Fatheads and Rainbows. As of today, we are lifting restrictions on vehicles and ice houses. Our road is well-maintained and plowed over 4.5 miles out and west, providing access to unexploited ice fishing opportunities for walleye and crappie. Please navigate the bridge with caution, keeping your speed at or below 15 mph, particularly with sizable ice houses on the road.

WOW what a weekend of wind and a couple inches of snow. We still have some clean up to attend to yet today, but we are looking good. We will start allowing any kind of trucks pulling a single axle fish house starting today. We hope to lift all restrictions by the end of the week if everything holds as it should. Fishing has been on fire with the exception of yesterday, as it slowed during the day but started to pick up by sunset. We are currently sitting on 17 + inches of ice. We also would like to thank all guest this weekend for understanding the challenges we faced over the last few days. Tight lines
