🍁 Lake Siskiyou — Probably the most photogenic/easiest recommendation. The 7-mile loop has golden foliage with Mount Shasta as the backdrop and picturesque Wagon Creek Bridge. *Lunch at Highland House Restaurant at Mount Shasta Resort

🍂 McCloud Falls & McCloud River — this spectacular set of 3 waterfalls is especially beautiful in autumn, with deciduous vegetation along the river mixed with oaks and evergreens. The three falls also give you an obvious destination rather than simply “driving around.” *Lunch in McCloud at historic White Mountain Cafe

🍁 Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens / Upper Sacramento River — This may be one of the best choices for reds and oranges, not just yellow. Gardens turn deep red, fiery orange and yellow in fall. It is also easy, family-friendly and dog-friendly on leash. *Lunch at Yaks On The 5 | Top 100 restaurant | Mt.Shasta | Burgers | BBQ

🌳 Scott Valley — Fort Jones to Etna — This is the scenic-drive option. Don’t miss the trees around the Mormon Church in Etna, which typically put on a strong display around mid-October. *BONUS* Lunch at Five Marys Burgerhouse in Fort Jones & Happy Hour at Denny Bar Company Distillery in Etna!
