WINTER SUNDAYS ARE COMING! 🍂

Every Sunday throughout October, November, January & February, enjoy our special Winter Sunday Set Menu at lunch or dinner.

2 Courses – £20
3 Courses – £25
Kids still eat FREE from the Kids Menu!

That means a family of four can enjoy eating out on Sundays for just £50 – with both adults having 3 courses and the kids having 2 courses each. ❤️

There are no smaller portions and no corners cut – just the same homemade quality and generous portions we're known for. 😀

Our Winter Sunday menu is a set menu with no substitutions, but our full regular menu will also be available, and everyone at the table can choose whichever menu they prefer.

Why are we doing it? ❤️
Because eating out together as a family shouldn't have to become an unaffordable treat. We know costs are rising everywhere, so this is our way of making a Sunday meal out a little more affordable this winter.

And a little reminder about our Family Pass:
Winter Sundays and Kids Eat Free are completely separate from Family Pass, which continues at all times.

Family Pass means, if you're struggling to feed your children, please get in touch. A hot, hearty meal for your family will be provided to take away, no questions asked. ❤️

Good food. Proper portions. Family time. At a price that makes Sundays out a little easier. 🤩

You can book in now to enjoy Winter Sundays, booking ahead is always advised, especially on Sundays, walk ins will be very welcome space permitting. 🍴😀❤️

It's a strange feeling to convey......absolute terror and stress mixed with huge relief and excitement! 😀

What's causing the terror? Well, when you own a building with as much roof as this one and you're getting 3 quarters of it replaced, there's fear of disruption and most of all...cost! 🙈😟

But this is helped by the excitement of it all being done! A building as old as this one has been challenging, shall we say, to keep water tight and on top of it all. To think that very shortly we will have more secure winters and Dad won't have to be up there! (Might not stop him wanting to be 😂)

It's a very necessary step that we've worked hard to make happen and we are very excited to see progress this quick! 🤩

There's some big plans for this place, but the roof had to take priority this year! Next year though, we've some exciting refurbishments to announce that we know Castle Douglas is going to love! ❤️

A brilliant vibe all round in the restaurant with residents, diners and some good banter with lovely locals. ❤️😀

Thanks to everyone who joined us last night in any way. 😊

Huge thanks to Ian who helped us create a new dish, the "Ian Affogato"- coffee & whisky poured over Ice cream, a first for us and who knows maybe the Ian Affogato will make it onto the menu! 😀😅

Our chef Sarah, or Sasa if you know her well, is utterly AMAZING! 🤩 Not just because she creates amazing recipes and cooks delicious meals, but because she can get through a busy service like today single handedly and still produce meals that look like this! 🤩

Large tables, small tables, her consistency is remarkable and timing phenomenal. 😀

Remember your dishes are all freshly prepared to order, including slicing & coating the chicken before dunking it in her freshly prepared beer batter then building the sauce from scratch for her sweet & sour chicken dish! That's just 1 dish of many that she will put this level of effort into before it's served to you, fresh & hot! 😀

We aren't a fast food place, but I'll bet you never wait as long as you'd think for this level of preparation behind the scenes and that's down to the skill of this amazing lady! 👏

Sarah will kill me if I go on any more about the rest of the ways in which I think she's wonderful, so I'll stop here, but trust me when I say, your food is in very safe hands, from ingredient handling to care and passion for what she does. ❤️

We are very lucky to have had Sarah working here at the hotel for over 13 years, and hopefully many more. (We hope the unlimited Market cappuccinos are enough of an incentive to stay! 🤣)
