🐑💕 The Ryeland girls are off on a little dating holiday!

They’re heading to the big farm for a few weeks to find themselves some boyfriends, so if you’re looking out for them in their usual field, they’ll be away enjoying a spot of sheep romance! 😂

We’ll look forward to welcoming them home, hopefully with some lovely news… 🤞 If you’re coming to stay with us in the spring, you might get to meet some gorgeous baby Ryeland lambs! 🐑🌼

For those staying with us at the moment, don’t worry — Dinky and his mate are still here and will be more than happy to welcome you over for a good fuss! 🥰

🔌⚡ A new addition at The Byre!

We’ve just had an electric vehicle charging point installed in the cottage’s parking area — another little extra to help make our guests’ holidays that bit easier. 🏡

It’s not quite ready to use yet, but we’re working on getting everything sorted as soon as possible. We’ll let you know once it’s up and running, along with the details for using it.

We’re always looking for ways to improve your stay at Woodgate Farm, and we hope this will be a handy addition for guests bringing an electric car to explore the beautiful Shropshire Hills. 🌿

A little catch-up on some lovely guest feedback 💚

I’ve been a bit behind on sharing our reviews, but these were far too lovely to keep to ourselves!

From peaceful stays on our caravan site to family holidays at The Byre, it means so much to hear that our guests have enjoyed their time here at Woodgate Farm.

We put a lot of love and hard work into making everything clean, comfortable and welcoming—for our two-legged guests and their four-legged companions! 🐾 Reading about the little things you’ve appreciated makes it all feel worthwhile.

A little holiday, some training and so much to be proud of 🐾💚

It was lovely welcoming Belinda, Giles and Ernie from Cheshire for a few days at The Byre here at Woodgate Farm — time to take a step back, relax and enjoy a dog training mini break together.

I’ve been working with Belinda and Ernie for a while, and watching his confidence grow has been wonderful. Their stay gave us the chance to build on that progress, taking his training into new environments and fine-tuning those little handling skills that can make such a big difference.

From walking through town and keeping Ernie engaged, to knowing how to support him when something gave him a little spook, there were so many lovely successes. Watching Belinda and Giles grow in confidence alongside him absolutely fills me with pride. 💛

A relaxing holiday and some lovely progress for Goldie 🐾💚

It’s been lovely welcoming Sarah, Matt and Goldie to The Byre this week, combining a break in the Shropshire Hills with some training together here at Woodgate Farm.

Their guest book message put a huge smile on my face:

“The cottage is absolutely wonderful”
“Goldie is making huge progress to check in and focus on us already!”

Time to relax, explore and build skills to take home — it’s lovely seeing the accommodation and dog training come together like this.

They even enjoyed some goodies from Hough and sons! And their comment about Richard wanting another Golden did make me laugh… 😂

Another lovely week at Woodgate Farm, welcoming guests to The Byre and combining a relaxing holiday with a little dog training! 🐾🏡

After arriving and reading about our dog training holidays, Goldie’s owners decided their stay was the perfect opportunity to fit in some training alongside their break.

And Goldie has certainly stolen my family’s hearts — we do have a soft spot for golden retrievers! 💛

Goldie has a wonderful bond with her owners at home, but outside, the excitement of other dogs and people makes staying connected much harder. With that gorgeous face, she attracts plenty of attention wherever she goes!

Our focus was on building that connection outdoors, laying the foundations for more successful recall and helping her owners become a bigger part of the fun.

Across three sessions, we started with the foundations, built on those skills, then headed into town to put them into practice in everyday situations. This gave her owners the opportunity to work through the challenges with support and leave with a clear idea of how to keep progressing at home.

It’s been lovely working with Goldie and her family, and I can’t wait to hear how they get on after their holiday. 😊

I love bringing these two parts of our life together: giving people space to relax and enjoy their dogs, while helping them work through training struggles and build towards those little everyday successes.

💛 A little bit of the past, present and future all coming together…

Last week felt like a real full-circle moment for me.

One of the hardest parts of moving to Church Stretton and starting our new chapter at Woodgate Farm was knowing that I was also stepping away from a dog training business I’d spent around 20 years building in Cheshire.

Clever clogs canine training had become such a huge part of my life. I had clients and dogs I’d seen week after week, year after year, and the thought of essentially starting again in a completely new area felt pretty daunting.

But alongside that came an opportunity to create something I’d wanted to offer for a very long time — bringing together dog training, holidays and life here at Woodgate Farm.

And last week, I got to see all of those pieces come together. 🥰

We welcomed Nicola and Duke from Cheshire to stay with us here at Woodgate Farm. Nicola and Duke have been part of Clever Clogs for years, with Duke attending classes since he was a puppy, and I’ve genuinely missed seeing their faces every week since we moved.

So to be able to welcome them here, show them a little of what we love about this part of Shropshire, give them the chance to enjoy a relaxing break, AND sneak in some dog training together felt incredibly special.

We were able to pick back up on some of the training we’d worked on in Cheshire, build on it, and enjoy spending time together again — just in a very different setting!

For me, it was one of those moments where the past, present and future suddenly made sense together.
