A quick update on the Air Display taking place tomorrow, on Wednesday 12 August πŸ›©οΈ

The Flying Comrades have had to withdraw after one of their aircraft suffered engine failure on its way back from Blackpool which unfortunately won't be fixed in time. We hope to see them over Falmouth Bay another year.

Stepping in at the last minute is Mark Linney, flying his Van's RV-8 in a solo aerobatic display. Mark's flown just about everything, from RAF fast-jets to Airbus A350s to airshow legends like the Hawker Hunter, and he'll be putting that experience to full use carving loops and rolls through the sky above the bay, smoke trail and all.

The Royal Navy Raiders and AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers complete the line-up from 6.15pm, with the solar eclipse unfolding overhead too.

🌘 Two weeks to go until the Falmouth Week Air Display and a 95% partial solar eclipse, both happening on Wednesday 12th August. Here's what you need to know before the big day. πŸ‘‡

ℹ️ Getting here:
πŸš‰ Take the Maritime Line, a twice hourly rail service between Truro and Falmouth. All trains will terminate at Falmouth Docks as the Falmouth Town Station will be CLOSED for the day.
🚌 Regular bus services connect Falmouth with Truro, Redruth, Camborne, Helston, Penryn, Flushing and beyond. Local town shuttle services also operate throughout Falmouth.
πŸ…ΏοΈ Church Street car park will be closed for the duration of Falmouth Week but there are plenty of alternative public car parks across town.
🚧 A number of town centre roads will be closed at various times throughout Falmouth Week. Please plan ahead if travelling by car.

πŸ›©οΈ On the day:
β›΅ A vessel exclusion zone will be in place on the water from 5.30pm.
⚠️ Drones are restricted across the whole of Falmouth while the display takes place.
πŸͺ‚ The air display will begin at 6.15pm with the Royal Navy Raiders, followed by the Aerosuperbatics WingWalkers and finishing with The Flying Comrades.
πŸ›οΈ Expect it to be busy, so allow extra time and use public transport where you can. Avoid post-display delays by heading into town to enjoy all that Falmouth has to offer before heading home.

β˜€οΈ Watching the eclipse: The eclipse runs from 6.18pm to 8.10pm, reaching maximum coverage at 7.16pm. Remember, NASA is clear that standard sunglasses, polarised or not, don't protect your eyes, only certified eclipse glasses meeting the ISO 12312-2 standard are safe.
