Rainy Days at Heathbank House

At Heathbank House the windows glow,
While raindrops tap in steady flow,
A silver drum on slate and stone,
A cosy rhythm all its own.

High Tor stands tall in misty pride,
With cloud and drizzle at its side,
Climbers fade to ghostly specks,
As rain writes poems on rocky necks.

Inside, the kettle hums away,
A promise of a warmer day,
With mugs that steam and biscuits stacked,
And soggy coats upon the rack.

Boots by doors and laughter near,
Stories told we love to hear—
“Was sunshine here just yesterday?”
“Yes—welcome to the Peak District way!”

Outside, the owls begin their call,
Rain still whispering over all,
But tucked inside with blankets deep,
It’s weather made for toast and sleep.

So let it pour, let puddles gleam,
Let High Tor hide in misty dream—
For rainy days, as guests all know,
Make Heathbank House the warmest glow.

Guests and I will never tire of this view…

Watching climbers take on the dramatic rock face, with glimpses of the renowned Giddy Edge in the distance — it’s a scene that never stands still. One day it’s bathed in spring sunshine, the next it transforms into a snow globe.

Nature provides the perfect soundtrack too… owls calling through the night, kestrels soaring by day.

All of this, right here on the gateway to the Peak District, with countless attractions waiting to be explored.

A stay here isn’t just a getaway… it’s an experience. ✨

Widely regarded as one of England’s most atmospheric, timeless and unspoilt medieval manors, Haddon Hall is a place where history lingers in every worn stone step and intricately carved wooden panel.
