The Star at Cotton is more than just a pub. It’s where friends gather, families celebrate, neighbours catch up, and special memories are made.
For years, we’ve been proud to serve our local community here in Staffordshire with great food, great drinks, and a warm welcome for everyone who walks through our doors.
Like many independent pubs and hospitality businesses across the country, we’re facing some of the toughest trading conditions we’ve seen in recent years. Rising costs, increased bills, and ongoing pressures continue to make things incredibly challenging for businesses like ours.
Despite this, our team turns up every day doing what they love – creating memorable experiences, supporting local suppliers, providing jobs, and being a place where our community can come together.
That’s why we’re supporting the campaign, which is calling for Hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.
A reduction in VAT would help pubs, restaurants, cafés and hospitality venues like ours protect jobs, invest in our teams, improve facilities, and continue serving the communities that rely on them.
