As part of our daily round to feed our ponies, who are lucky enough to live above Robin Hoods Bay, we pass this beauty spot on Fylingdales Moor.

I’ve been a little reluctant to share this gem as it’s so quiet and brimming with wildlife. But because so many of our customers walk everywhere from the site and many return time and time again I felt I should include it in our walks information. So I have put together this new circular walk…..across the moors to Robin Hoods Bay.

The full route is a day walk but, like all our recommendations, there are options to shorten it - or return by bus.

The conditions are perfect for walking at the moment, cooler but still dry underfoot. You can walk in all directions from our site and not see a soul for hours. Or you can plan your route to enjoy one of many tea rooms or pubs in the area.

While we tend to describe ourselves as a couples retreat we are also super popular with solo travellers. The total seclusion that each of our cabins offers makes for a mini retreat and yet one of us is always on site if guests need anything. And the local walks can all be planned to include a cafe or window shop for travellers who like to combine me time with some people watching too. Accommodation options include our small but perfectly formed Treetops studio or, for those who want the luxury of a slipper bath, The Hideaway and Valley View are a little bigger but still cosy and welcoming

We have so many thanks to thank our woodland for but at the moment top of the list is the fact that it is cool. Whether you are at the top of the woodland in Treetops our studio cabin, on the edge with meadow views in the Hideaway, or down by the waterfall in Valley View you’ll always have shade.

There is no doubt that our guests choose us because they love peace and privacy. But also because they love Whitby.

Only two miles from Whitby, and walkable for most, we do offer the chance to enjoy both time in nature and the amazing programme of events in Whitby.

We have availability in our luxury Hideaway cabin for both Whitby Regatta and for the first week-end of Whitby Folk Week . If you have always wanted to experience these fun events but like peace and quiet too this could be your answer.
