This romantic Antebellum Inn has stood majestically for over 166 years in Historic Vicksburg, Mississippi and is one of the finest examples of Palladian Architecture in the state. Built in 1856 as a wedding gift by businessman Duff Green, the mansion was designed for entertaining and was well known for the many lavish parties that set the standard for hospitality and good taste. The Green family offered the mansion for use as a hospital in 1863, after being hit at least five times by Union cannonball. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been recognized by the Department of the Interior and the Smithsonian Institution. The Duff Green Mansion has been completely restored and is beautifully and comfortably furnished.

Meet the team that makes the Duff Green family of luxury guest homes all that we want it to be. DJ Brooks, Shanna Taylor and Megan Norris not only work tirelessly they are resourceful and BRILLIANT. Because gas has gotten so expensive they have all invested in electric bikes. DGM is investing in wagons that say follow me to Duff Green so we can transport linens. We get it done. We do what it takes to make your visit perfect. We appreciate this group so much.

Thank you to all who commented on casket corners. The post was a little bonus while we were taking this picture. We love these stairs. The best shot ever on these steps is a bride going up with her groom trailing behind her. No one has ever looked more in love than that groom. If you any pictures taken on the steps at the Duff Green Mansion will you add to this post?

Do you know what the alcoves with vases were originally for?

Tea? In our tour we say Mrs. Green should have served the ladies some tea but this is a river town, we ladies probably didnt mess with that tea, we had a little w**e, a little sherry…..

As our guide was giving the tour from the other end of the ballroom this morning she was distracted by this Victorian sideboard, all the collected pieces and the family photographs from four generations. Come see us.
