Meet Bethuel Mabilane, known to everyone at Amava River Lodge as Boesman. Important Update | Amava River Lodge❗️

Following severe flooding along the Olifants River, Amava River Lodge has sustained significant damage and is currently inaccessible. For this reason, the lodge is closed with immediate effect.

Based on what we have seen so far, we expect Amava to remain closed until 31 December 2026, while assessments continue and a careful recovery plan is put in place.

Our first concern is the safety and well-being of our team. We are grateful for the calm and professional way the situation was handled on the ground. A member of our team will be in touch directly with all guests and partners affected by existing bookings to discuss next steps and alternative arrangements.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We will share further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Seen recently near Amava River Lodge. A relaxed pride of lions resting on the road, making the most of the hotter Green Season conditions. With softer light, fresh scents and plenty of movement in the bush, this time of year often brings special moments like these on our game drives.
