There’s something special about a sundowner stop in the Klaserie 🍹🌅

The sounds of the bush beginning to change, the last light spilling across the landscape, and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature.

One of the most loved safari traditions, sundowners are about more than just the view… they’re about soaking in the magic of the wilderness before nightfall takes over. ✨

Nature’s clean-up crew hard at work 🦅

White-backed vultures play a vital role in the ecosystem by helping to keep the bush healthy and balanced. With incredibly sharp eyesight, they can spot a carcass from kilometres away and quickly clear remains that could otherwise spread disease.

Although often misunderstood, these birds are some of the most important, and sadly most threatened, species in Africa’s wilderness. 🌍✨

An elephant’s day is mostly spent doing one thing… eating 🐘🌿

These titans can consume up to 150kg of vegetation in a single day, using their incredibly dexterous trunks to pluck leaves, strip bark, and gather grasses with surprising precision.

Slow, peaceful moments like this remind us that even the largest animals in the bush move with remarkable care and purpose. ✨

A fleeting moment with one of the bush’s fastest predators 🐆✨

Cheetahs use scent marking to communicate with other cheetahs in the area, leaving behind important information about territory, presence, and even reproductive status.

Tiny paws, curious eyes, and endless lessons from the wild 🦁🐾

Lion cubs may look playful and carefree, but every moment in the bush is part of their survival training. From wrestling with siblings to carefully watching the pride’s adults, cubs learn essential skills like communication, hunting techniques, and social bonds from a very young age.

Moments like these at Africa on Foot remind us that every safari sighting tells a bigger story about life in the wild. 🌿✨

Grace in motion, perfectly adapted for speed and precision.

In the open spaces of Klaserie, the cheetah surveys its surroundings with focused calm, a predator built for brief, explosive bursts of acceleration rather than prolonged pursuit.

Every movement is efficient, every pause deliberate. In this stillness lies the preparation for one of nature’s most remarkable displays of speed.

Within the herd, each individual plays a role in collective safety; their patterns confuse predators while their constant awareness ensures the group’s protection. Together, they embody the rhythm and resilience of life on the savannah.

An unforgettable encounter with one of Africa’s most efficient predators...the African wild dog 🐾.

From the safari vehicle, guests observe a rare sighting as a pack moves with purpose through the bush, their coordinated behaviour a testament to remarkable social structure and hunting skill.

Moments like these capture the essence of safari, patience rewarded with glimpses into the raw dynamics of the wild.
