A visitor dropped by for a drink. 🦒💧

He strolled up to the waterhole in front of camp, took a long look around, and then did the famous giraffe splits for a sip. Not the most graceful move in the bush, but definitely one of the most charming! 😄

Some mornings are best explored on foot. 🌅👣

As the sun rises over the Timbavati plains, we swap the vehicle for our own two feet. The air is cool, the light is golden, and every sound feels a little louder. 🐦

On foot, the bush opens up in a whole new way. Fresh tracks in the sand, the stories they tell, and the small wonders you’d never notice from a game drive.

Spring Things 🌿✨

The first rains have worked their magic, and the Timbavati is turning green again. Fresh shoots, flowering trees and full bellies all round. 💚

Everyone is out enjoying the new growth, from the grazers tucking into tender grass to the browsers making the most of the leafy buffet. It’s one of our favourite times of year in the bush, when everything feels fresh, lively and full of new beginnings. 🌱

Three courses, one unforgettable evening. 🍽️✨

🥢 To start: Charred asparagus with a silky, savoury sauce, finished with microgreens and edible flowers.

🍄 The main: Creamy spinach risotto topped with roasted mushrooms, toasted almonds and a golden parmesan crisp.

🍐 To finish: Poached pear with crushed meringue, fresh mint and a delicate tuile.

After a morning tracking leopards and an afternoon by your private pool, this is how we like to end the day. Our kitchen team puts so much love into every plate, and it shows. 💚

Take a slow lap around Walkers Plains Camp, tucked into the wide-open Timbavati plains. From up here it looks peaceful (it is), but on the ground there’s always something wandering past. 🐘🦓

Ever get the feeling you;re not wanted? 😆

This owlet caused quite the fuss in the Walkers Plains Camp gardens, causing a union of birds to stage a protest demanding immediate removal of the owlet from the premesis. The owlet treid to stand its ground but soon decided it wasn't with the bother and floated off to a quieter corner fo the grounds.🦉
