A canvas shaped by nature - Some of the most beautiful moments in the bush have nothing to do with what you came to find.

A weathered tree standing beneath a dramatic sky. A silhouette caught in the last light of day. Ancient giants rising from the landscape, shaped by seasons, storms, fire and time.

Across the reserve, these trees are as much a part of the safari experience as the wildlife itself. They frame the landscape, provide shelter and sustenance, and create those unforgettable scenes that make you stop, breathe and simply take it all in.

The bush has a way of creating its own art.💚

One of the best things about exclusive-use safari? No fixed schedule, no other vehicles to keep pace with, just room for curiosity.

On a private drive the whole family can hop off, get close to a fresh find, and let the little ones ask a hundred questions. That's the kind of safari moment kids remember long after they've outgrown the afternoon nap.

Walkers welcomes families of all ages, because, as we all know, some of the best memories happen on family holidays. 💚

🔥 A little change now, for a healthier reserve later.

Over the past few days, controlled block burns have
taken place on sections of the Walkers property as part of the ongoing veld management programme within the Timbavati Nature Reserve.

Fire is a natural and important part of the African bushveld ecosystem. Carefully planned burns help manage older grass, recycle nutrients back into the soil, encourage fresh growth and maintain a healthy balance within the landscape for the wildlife that depends on it.

These burns are carefully managed by the reserve, with specific areas selected and conditions closely monitored to ensure the fire remains controlled and beneficial to the veld.

And the best part? The transformation is just around the corner. 🌱

With rain on the horizon this weekend, we're looking forward to watching the first fresh green shoots emerge and seeing the bushveld come alive again.

Before long, these recently burnt areas will be a lush carpet of new growth, bringing with them the promise of another beautiful season in the Lowveld.

Nature has its own way of renewing itself. We simply help it along.💚

Hello, September. Hello, spring. 🌿

There’s something about the arrival of spring in the bush that feels like a fresh beginning. The days grow warmer, the landscape slowly changes, and the first signs of the season start appearing in all their colourful glory.

And what better way to welcome September than with one of Africa’s most beautiful seasonal visitors?

The European Roller, with its brilliant turquoise plumage and flashes of blue and brown, is a welcome reminder that the seasons are always changing and the bush is never quite the same from one day to the next.

Here’s to longer days, warmer evenings and a new season in the wild.

⚠️ Graphic content⚠️ from Paul MacFarlane - "Tables turn. An unknown male leopard which a number of weeks prior killed what we believe to have been the offspring of the leopard seen feeding on it. Signs indicated that the unknown male leopard was killed by a lioness a few days earlier to this sighting.
Leopards are known to practise cannibalism but moments before arriving at the sighting a new meal had made its way into the same tree. The fresh carcass of an elusive aardvark."

Just look at him now... 🦁

Our young white lion continues to grow bigger, stronger and more confident by the day. What a privilege it is to watch him thrive and develop, one day at a time.

There is something incredibly special about seeing these young animals grow into the wild, surrounded by the sights, sounds and challenges of the African bush.

From a little cub to a strong young lion, his journey continues.
