Not every tree at Tulani is just a perch: sometimes it's a lookout point.

Two lionesses used the height to survey the bush around them before one made the leap down, trusting the ground below her. Her companion watched, judged the moment, and followed just seconds later.

For a moment, there's only the bush: dry branches, dappled light, the faintest suggestion of movement. Then it settles, and out of the tangle emerges a whole crèche of lion cubs, huddled close, every eye fixed on the vehicle. It's a sighting that unfolds in slow motion, the kind that reminds you the wild is always watching, even when you think you're the one doing the looking.
