The fire is on, the nights are drawing in. Early nights and cold weather are no problem in Baile An Or, the cosy living room sucks you in and suddenly its the next morning and you haven’t left the sofa 🤣.

It is a very serene place in the winter, looking out to The Minch and Skye while storms batter down on you, it is a comfort like no other.

Throwback to having a very special guest at the house. This is our 1983 Targa, we took it up to enter in the South Harris Agricultural Show, poor thing didn’t even win 1st place up against some tough competition.

We still have availability all through winter, you may not want to bring a convertible though 🤣

What an extraordinary meal we had at Flavour. It was just devine, the service was top notch, our drinks were delicious and the Mocktails were paired to each course which was just such a special touch. We will be returning, even if it means making up more ‘special occasions’, just as an excuse to go.

We went pony trecking with Traigh Mohr Pony Trecking, this was up in Lewis, it was a wonderful day out. A great thing to do as a family, we didnt want to leave the ponies after the bonds we made 🤣

We managed to spot the CalMac ferry from our window, always a nice sight bobbing along the minch. The ferry to Harris is a real treat when you have the right weather, sometimes you even get to see some dolphins which is very special.

Big games in the calendar, no pressure for Harris FC. Watching them play is a great pleasure when in Harris !

We were very, very lucky to have some fresh lobster in the house this week. How delicious it was, shame it’s all eaten! Thoroughly enjoyed by all.

In the autumn fresh seafood can be such a treat whether it is warming Cullen Skink, or some Mackerel Sushi. Our kitchen is equipped for it all.

We still have availability in September of this year ! Anyone fancying a getaway in the autumn check it out !

What is better than an afternoon spent on the golf course, especially at The Isle of Harris Golf Club. We encourage bringing your clubs and going out for a round, just be sure to bring a few extra balls 🤣

Proud to say that the Harris Gin was one of ours, we had a great time visiting Harris Glass Studio. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon and to get a personal keepsake from Harris.
