We want to send out a final heartfelt gratitude message to our friends and family for helping us after the fire. It's been a long 14 months and we continue to work toward rebuilding our lives. The love, support, and donations were overwhelming and allowed us to replenish basic necessities and an apartment in town while we tackled the legal aspects of insurance neglect.

After much consideration, we have listed the land for sale to include all the business equipment through our good friend, Carolyn Ascher, Camp David Realty, Inc. Following the settlement, we decided with heavy hearts to move back home to Iowa to reunite with our family.

We will miss our Hayward family deeply. Please always remember that you gave us the time of our lives and we will carry these precious memories with us forever.

Patti and I have not posted here on our Red Deer site in a long while, sorry for that. It's been a roller coaster 10 months since the fire. We've had a lot of back and forth up and down.

We are so grateful for all the help we have received from the community, township, friends, family, vacationers, fisherman and snowmobilers. Without your support, contributions and opening your homes for us we would have packed up and moved closer to our grandkids shortly after the fire. (there would not have been much to pack) 😂 Sorry I had too.

We want everyone to know we are working towards rebuilding Red Deer! Our hope and goal is to start in the spring.

Keep an eye out for a possible impromptu Red Deer Parking lot bar stop this snowmobile season, no promises but if we get a nice day you never know.

We want to thank everyone who selflessly contributed to our loss, either personally or through the GoFundMe account. Words cannot express our sincere gratitude. As many of you know, we have run into some major road blocks with our home/business insurance company and your help has lifted our spirits. We'll keep moving forward thanks to all of you!! We feel so loved and hope to return that love everyday. God Bless!😘

The fundraiser at Lost Land Lake Lodge was a wonderful success. Chad & I are eternally grateful to all of you who came out to support us. Many asked, so we decided to post that our intention is to rebuild Red Deer Lodge. There are many, many things in the works - including a few hoops to jump through - but that is our goal. Thank you to Pat & Dana for hosting our fundraiser. You are amazing friends!! And a huge thank you to our North woods family who set up the event.

We don't have the words to express our sincere gratitude to all of our family, friends, neighbors, and community. The support and love that you have all shown to us is overwhelming. We are so incredibly grateful! I also want to reach out to those customers who were in the resort during the fire. I hope and pray that the trauma will subside without any lasting effects. We love you all very much.

A little update for our Red Deer friends and family.
It's been almost 2 weeks since the fire. Patti, Luke and I have shaken off the initial shock and awe and have started the process of clean up and recovery.

We want to thank everyone for the kind words of support and prayers.

We have not made any solid decisions yet but I will post it here when we do.

Thank you again to everyone for all you have done in the last 2 weeks it really helps keep us positive knowing we are surrounded with friends and family like you!

Patti and I want to thank everyone who has reached out to us over the past couple of days. It makes it much easier to deal with our loss with friends, family and a community like you and this! We have a long road ahead of us and a lot of decisions to be made. We will keep you posted on our progress and the way forward.

We will be opening today at Noon for football and hopefully anyone out on sleds in this new snow!
It's a light fluffy snow that may not hold up on the trails well but we have around 5 inches overnight and I've heard more to the North of us in Bayfield County.

Red Deer will be closed this Saturday, December 14th.
Back to regular hours Monday the 16th. 4pm to close.

Hopefully we'll be posting new winter snowmobile season hours very soon!
