Once a place of water, wildlife, and quiet connection… gone in just 24 hours.

Following the recent floods across the Kruger region in January this year — with water levels exceeding those recorded in 2000 — the wall at Dean’s Dam could no longer hold. In a single day, a familiar part of the landscape changed completely.

For many, Dean’s Dam was more than just a dam. It became a place people connected with watching wildlife arrive and return, day after day... Especially via the YouTube feed as the camera and solar system was taken too! The floods have reshaped the land, altered water flow, and affected access. What was once a steady gathering place is no longer what it was.

Over time, a number of guests and supporters have reached out, asking how they could help. So, a simple option has been created for those who may wish to contribute toward the future restoration of the dam and surrounding area. There is no expectation — simply an option, for those who feel moved to be part of what comes next.
