Two of our Garden-view Suites at Klaserie Drift Misava - Ndzilo and Moya - have undergone a dramatic transformation!

Both suites now come with luxurious bathrooms - complete with ceramic baths, and indoor and outdoor showers - alongside generous dressing rooms to unpack and feel like you have completely arrived ✨

The best part? We've added a lockable, inter-linking door so that groups and families can keep their loved ones close - whilst the screened garden maintains your privacy.

Watch the reaction as this elephant sees another elephant's skull 😲🐘

This isn't the first time we've seen this response to the skull - but it never fails to remind us just how cognisant and emotional these intelligent creatures are.

They are one of the few animals officially recognised for showing grief at the death of a loved one - and are known to investigate the bones of even strange elephants.

A day to remember 👰🤵💍

We were overjoyed to welcome Sara and Robbie for a stunning safari wedding at Klaserie Drift this month 😍

Joined by close friends and family, the intimate ceremony took place in the shade of a giant Jackalberry tree along the banks of the winding Klaserie river.

There were a few watery eyes as their heartfelt vows were exchanged - before the festive mood took over with cake-cutting, photos, and a special wedding dinner ready and waiting back at the Lodge 🎉

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple - and thank you for trusting us with your big day ✨ It is always our greatest privilege to be part of the special moments in our guests' lives.

The buffalo have been flocking to the sandy beaches below Klaserie Drift Misava this week!

As the dry season finally takes hold and the last mud wallows dwindle into dust, Misava and the mighty Klaserie river that flows directly past it form the heart of wildlife activity.

What a joy it is to see these magnificent herds return 👏🎉

Tensions rise at mealtimes with the River pride!

These lionesses successfully hunted a young giraffe and were quick to take advantage of their meal. In true lion form, tempers flared as each battled for space around the carcass - showing that despite the close bonds between these related females, nothing comes between them and their food!! 😅

MANDELA DAY 2026 🎉✨

Last week in honour of Mandela Day, Prudence and Chef Khumo were joined by several other members of our team for an afternoon of celebrations at a local children's centre connected to our partner nonprofit Seedsoflight

200 excited children turned up after school for a feast of beef and chicken stew, rice, pap, and vegetables - as well as some delicious cupcakes for dessert handmade and iced by Talitha, Matt, and Mila 🥰

As Chef Khumo finished his preparations, the children put on a wonderful dance show to show off their talents. By the end, every child left with a full belly, an enormous smile, and a warm blanket for the chilly winter nights.

Though feeding so many children was a very different prospect for our talented lodge chefs, everyone's hard work - including the centre's own staff - made the whole event truly special. As an extra gift, the centre received 200 much-needed enamel plate sets and a bag of footballs to keep 💚

An exhausting but completely heartwarming and wonderful day!

Thank you to our Seeds of Light and the centre's staff for helping us put this special day together - and to our amazing guests, without whom none of this could be possible. And, of course, thank you to our team for always bringing your positivity and willingness to help!

Have you ever heard hyenas make noises like this?! 😲

Most people know hyenas for their unique whooping call, or even their sinister laughter-like shriek.... But there's even more to the vocal acrobatics of these phenomenal creatures!

Guide Khutso and our guests at Klaserie Drift Misava recently were treated to a full orchestra of hyenas as they feasted on an impala in the dark!

Do we off-road at Klaserie Drift? For the right reasons, absolutely!

Off-roading is just one of the reasons a safari in the Greater Kruger can be so thrilling. When you know a key wildlife sighting is there, but the view is poor or obscured, our guides are trained to take into account both animal behaviour and the sensitivity of the terrain to determine whether they can off-road ethically and safely.

This ensures our guests get the best possible experience out of their safari - like following a male lion as he criss-crosses through the bush - whilst knowing that their trip is not having a long-term negative effect on the environment we all love.

And when you put it all together, you get moments like this - an epic sighting of this male lion on the move 🦁
