A quick recap of last week's game capture! With help of helicopter pilot we introduced 4 new Blue Wildebeest on the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate in an effort to improve genetics and breeding. One big bull and 3 females were released. The team, lead by vet Jacob, captured the animals on Maroelani Nature reserve and then transported them to HWE. It seems that a few ladies are already pregnant so hopefully we'll see youngsters soon!

Waterbuck. It gets its name from its habitat preference for being near water sources, and it is known for its shaggy coat and ringed horns. Waterbucks are not commonly hunted by predators like lions due to their strong odor, which is secreted from sweat glands and acts as a deterrent.
