As we head into Fishing Opener weekend at Sunset Resort on the Ash River, I wanted to take a minute to share a few updates. In the short time I’ve owned the resort, I’ve quickly realized this is more than just a campground and cabin resort — it’s a family of people who love fishing, the outdoors, and making memories in Northern Minnesota. Good families communicate, so here are a few updates as we kick off the season:
• We are hoping to have the water turned on today or tomorrow. The cold temperatures have not been cooperating with us this spring, but we’re watching conditions closely and working to get everything ready as quickly as possible.
• Seasonal campers: please make sure your deposits are paid before moving into your site so we can keep things organized.
• Checks for camper and cabin deposits should now be made payable to Campfire Holdings, LLC.
• We are planning to have ice, bait, gas, and a few provisions available in the Trading Post starting this weekend. Payments will be cashless or charged to your account. As a thank you for your support and flexibility during this transition, we will be absorbing all credit card processing fees.
• Beginning in the coming weeks, we’ll start updating cabin exteriors with new aluminum soffits, fascia, and other improvements ahead of exterior painting projects. Please excuse the mess while we work to improve the experience and preserve the resort for years to come.
Thank you again for all the support, patience, and encouragement during this transition. I’m excited to meet many of you this summer, hear your Sunset Resort stories, and continue building something special together on the Ash River near Voyageurs National Park.
