Meet the "Plew" Cabin — Formerly Cabin 11!

There’s a little history behind the name Plew! During the days of the French-Canadian fur trade, a plew referred to a prime beaver pelt — an important measure of value for the voyageurs and fur traders who traveled throughout the Northwoods. 🦫

We thought it was a fitting name for a cabin here on the Ash River, surrounded by the same forests and waterways that once served as an important part of the fur trade.

The Plew Cabin is a cozy one-bedroom cabin featuring:
🛏️ Two twin beds
🛋️ Pull-out sofa
📶 Wi-Fi — one of the few cabins at the resort with internet
📺 Smart TV
🚪 Easy no-stair access
🌲 Comfortable outdoor space

The temperatures may be cooling down, but the fish are still biting! Fall is one of the best times to get out on the water, enjoy the changing colors, and take advantage of some great fishing across the Ash River and surrounding waters.

A big thank you to Phil for sharing this great catch with us! We love seeing what guests are finding out on the water.

Since taking over as the weekday manager just after the 4th of July, Jacob has quickly become a familiar and friendly face around the resort!

When he’s not here taking care of our guests, Jacob calls Hayward, Wisconsin home during the winter. He’s an outdoorsman at heart and especially enjoys fishing, exploring, and spending time outside—so he fits right in here on the Ash River!

From helping guests get settled in to making sure everyone has a great experience, Jacob has brought a genuine sense of hospitality, helpfulness, and guest service to the resort.

If you’ve visited us this summer, chances are you’ve already met Jacob. And if you haven’t, be sure to say hello the next time you’re here!

SEASONAL CAMPERS - Leases for the 2027 Season will be available beginning Saturday afternoon 9/5 in the Lodge if you'd like to stop in and pick one up. Also - We'd like to invite our amazing seasonal campers to our end of the season BBQ on Sunday afternoon, September 27th behind the Lodge.

If you aren't currently a Seasonal Camper here at the resort but looking for a spot next year, shoot us a message!
