When the sun goes down, the bush doesn’t go quiet. There’s always something happening after dark. 🌙

Watch to find out who’s been on the night shift at the Serondella waterhole recently.

What happens when there’s nowhere else you need to be?

Just space to slow down, settle in, and enjoy where you are. This is the kind of safari experience we believe in.

It’s easy to take in the whole scene, but what if you looked a little bit closer?

Take this as your opportunity to practice the art of noticing. The little ones keeping close to the adults. The way the herd moves together. Reflections shifting across the surface.

The big picture is beautiful, yes, but even more when you take the time to look a little closer. Share your observations with us in the comments below!

New uniforms and plenty of smiles.

On the 1st of September, 61 children from Welverdiend School received their new school uniforms, funded through the Serondella Foundation. Working together with the Imibala Foundation on the operations of the project, we were proud to see this come together and to continue supporting the school and community around Serondella.

A good day, made even better by seeing the excitement on the faces of the children being provided with their new uniforms.

There’s a certain warmth to winter evenings at Serondella.

The fire is lit. Dinner is served. Soft light fills the room and conversation carries on around the table.

Winter in the bush has a way of making you slow down and stay a little longer.

When the bush gets thirsty, the wild comes to the Serondella Waterhole.

With the bush at its driest, water becomes a gathering point. Elephants, lions, leopards and countless other creatures are drawn to the places where water remains.

At Serondella, we’re fortunate to have a waterhole of our own... bringing the wild a little closer and creating a front-row seat to the rhythms of the bush.

Not all of Serondella’s wildlife sightings happen on the game drive.

A breeding pair of Barred Owlets and a pair of Little Sparrowhawks return to nest in camp each year, making the gardens part of their story too.

One of the privileges of living this close to wilderness.

Watching a child discover the bush for the first time is a reminder that wonder is not something we lose. Sometimes it simply needs space to return.

Less distraction.
More presence. And maybe that’s becoming one of the rarest luxuries left.

We believe a safari should leave room for kids to follow tracks, room to explore and time to ask questions.

Ian McCallum has spent much of his life exploring the relationship between people and wilderness.

In his award-winning book Ecological Intelligence, he writes about something many safari guests experience but struggle to put into words: the feeling of becoming part of something larger than yourself.

Perhaps that is why wilderness has such a profound effect on us.

Not because it entertains us.

Not because it distracts us.

But because it reminds us.

It reminds us that we are connected to the rhythms of the natural world. That silence still has value. That awe still matters.

For a few days, the urgency of modern life softens. The mind slows down. Perspective returns.

And when you leave, you often take something home that has very little to do with wildlife sightings.

A quieter way of seeing the world.🌍

A safari has a way of leaving its mark on people. One of our favourite things is watching guests head home carrying a little piece of that feeling with them, even if they can’t quite put it into words.

Victor singing Serondellas song at dusk was one of those moments.

Victor primarily pursues the telltale signs of the bush as a tracker! But we think his deep voice singing Serondella’s song shows definite creative talent.
